Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
You Yourself made the world, and You Yourself hold it in Your hand.
Some follow only their own minds, and they lose. Others You bring to the Guru, and they win.
The Name of the One is the finest thing; the fortunate take it in through the Guru's word.
When the Guru gives the Name of the One, all pain and want go away.
So let everyone serve the One who charms every mind and the whole world — the One who made the world and holds it all.
The One who made the world holds it, and the Guru's gift of the Naam takes pain away.
Manmukh means someone who follows only their own mind; ik manmukh kar haaraa-i-an, some of these lose the game of life. Iknaa mayl guroo tinaa jeetaa: others are brought to the Guru, and they win. Think of a hiker who trusts a good guide and reaches the top.
Mohno, manmohno, jagmohno: the One who charms, who charms the mind, who charms the world, like a beautiful tune that makes everyone stop and listen.
Who helps you find your way when you feel lost?
