To see with my eyes, and hear with my ears - every limb and fiber of my being, and my breath of life are in bliss. ||1||Pause||

In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Trusting You, Lord, holding You in my heart, brings honor.

Seeing with my eyes, hearing with my ears, every part of me and my very breath are filled with joy.

When your heart holds what is true, your whole self feels it.
The deeper layer

Trusting the One brings honor, and it fills your whole self with joy.

This is the rahaa-o, the "pause" line, the center of the shabad. Tayrai maan har har maan: trusting You, Lord, brings honor. Maan here is more than believing. It means accepting the One and lining up with the One from the inside.

Then the verse moves through the body. Nain bain sarvan: eyes, speech and ears. Then ang angay sukh paraan — every limb and every breath at peace. Devotion is not only a thought in the head. It is like the feeling after a good laugh with family, when your whole body feels light. The whole self shares the joy.

A Question to Sit With

When has a good feeling filled you all the way to your fingertips?
