The humble servants of the Lord, Har, Har, Har, Har, Har, are sublime and exalted. What praise can we bestow upon them?

Nothing else can equal the Glory of the Lord's Name; please bless servant Nanak with Your Grace. ||8||1||

In plain words

The people of the One — Har, Har, Har, Har, Har — are the finest of all. What praise could ever be enough for them?

Nothing equals the glory of the Naam of the One. Nanak prays: please bless Your servant with Your grace.

The greatest thing you can hold is not fame or gold, but the Name itself.
The deeper layer

The people who love the One are beyond all praise, and nothing equals the Naam.

Har jan ootam: the One's own people are ootam, the finest. Ki-aa upmaa tin deejai: what praise could ever be enough for them?

Raam naam tul a-or na upmaa: nothing else is equal to the Name. Picture every trophy in the school cabinet. None of them could stand next to the Name.

Then the name Nanak appears. Guru Ram Das signs his hymns as Nanak, as each of the Gurus did. Jan naanak kirpaa kareejai: please bless Your servant Nanak with grace. It is a humble way to end.

A Question to Sit With

Who is someone you admire whose goodness is hard to put into words?
