God's Name is the tree, and His Glorious Virtues are the branches. Picking and gathering up the fruit, I worship Him.

The soul is divine; divine is the soul. Worship Him with love. ||1||

In plain words

The Naam of the One is a tree, and its good qualities are the branches. Every day I pick and gather its fruit, and so I worship.

The soul is divine; the Divine is the soul. With love, worship the One.

Goodness grows on the tree of the Name — and your own soul is part of that holiness.
The deeper layer

The Naam is a tree whose fruit is worship, and the soul itself is holy.

Barahm naam is the tarovar, the tree. Its gun, its good qualities, are the saakh, the branches. Chun chun pooj: picking and gathering its fruit is itself worship. Think of an apple orchard. Every apple you pick is a small thank-you.

Then aatam day-o day-o hai aatam: the soul is holy, and holy is the soul. Aatam means the self, the soul. Day-o means divine. When you see yourself rightly, you are sacred too. So worship turns inward and outward at the same time.

A Question to Sit With

What good quality would you most like to grow, like fruit on a tree?
