One of keen intellect and precise understanding is immaculate in all this world. In thoughtful consideration, he drinks in the sublime essence.

By Guru's Grace, the treasure is found; dedicate this mind to the True Guru. ||2||

In plain words

A mind that can tell what is true from what is passing stays clean in all the world. Thinking things through, again and again, it drinks the sweet taste.

By the Guru's grace the treasure is found. Give this mind to the True Guru.

A mind that can tell what is true stays clean in a noisy world.
The deeper layer

A clear mind stays clean in a noisy world.

Bibayk buDh means a mind that can tell what is real from what is passing. A mind like that stays nirmal, unstained, sabh jag meh, in all the world.

Bichar bichar ras peejai: by thinking things through, again and again, it drinks the sweetness. Think of sorting a basket of fruit. You check each one and keep the good ones.

Gur parsaad padaarath paa-i-aa: by the Guru's grace, the treasure is found. Satgur ka-o ih man deejai: give this mind to the True Guru. The gift is a clear mind, offered back.

A Question to Sit With

How do you tell the difference between what matters and what just looks shiny?
