Meeting the True Guru, the Naam is implanted within; we are united and blended with the Lord's Name. ||8||6|| Chhakaa 1.

In plain words

Nanak says: say the Name of the One, the One who is everywhere, again and again, and you are set free.

Meeting the True Guru, the Naam is planted inside you, and you blend into the One's Naam, like a drop returning to the water it came from.

Hold the Naam with love, and slowly you blend into what you love.
The deeper layer

Repeating the Naam with love sets you free, and through the True Guru you blend into it.

Raam ram ram ram ram raamai: the Name of the One repeated again and again, like a heartbeat. Tay gat keejai: from this comes freedom. Satgur milai taa naam drirh-aa-ay: meeting the True Guru, the Naam is planted firmly. Raam naamai ralai mileejai: you merge and blend into the Naam. The words chhakaa 1 mark the end of the first set of six hymns.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you love so much that you feel part of it?
