Your child makes mistakes again and again, but still, You are pleased with him, O Father of the Universe. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I am a foolish child who knows so little. Father, teach me!

Your child makes mistakes again and again, every moment, and still You are pleased with Your child, O Father of the whole world.

You can make mistakes and still be completely loved.
The deeper layer

You can make mistakes again and again and still be loved.

MugaDh i-aan: foolish and not knowing. It is a humble way of speaking, like a small child saying "I don't know how yet." Sut khin khin bhool bigaar: the child slips up moment after moment. Jagat pit bhaavhigay: still the Father of the world is pleased. Mistakes do not cancel belonging.

A Question to Sit With

Who loves you even when you get things wrong?
