Light Merging Into Light

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਭਗਤ ਤਿਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵਹਿਗੇ ॥
jo har bhaaveh bhagat tinaa har bhaavhigay.
Those devotees who are pleasing to the Lord - the Lord is pleasing to them.
ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ਜੋਤਿ ਰਲਿ ਜਾਵਹਗੇ ॥੩॥
jotee jot milaa-ay jot ral jaavhagay. ||3||
Their light merges into the Light; the lights are merged and blended together. ||3||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The devotees who are dear to the One find the One dear to them.

Their light joins the great Light; the lights blend together into one.

Loving the One is a two-way glow, like a small flame joining a larger light.
The deeper layer

Love between the One and its devotees runs both ways, until their light becomes one.

Jotee jot milaa-ay: light merging into Light, a picture of the soul rejoining its source. Bhaaveh bhagat ... har bhaavhigay: delight on both sides. Think of a candle held up to a bonfire. Its flame joins the bigger blaze, still glowing, now part of something larger.

A Question to Sit With

When have you felt so connected that the line between you and another softened?
