My heart is tuned to the True Name — and everywhere I look, I see the One who is always, already here.
This verse ends the shabad simply: a heart tuned to the True Name sees the One who is always here.
Naanak rataa sach naa-ay — Nanak is rataa, dyed and tuned, in the True Name. Think of a guitar string tuned to the right note. Once it is tuned, it rings clear. Har vaykhai sadaa hajooray — he sees the One, sadaa hajoor, always present. Hajoor means right here, facing us. The One is not somewhere else to be reached. The One is here, always, already.
The whole short shabad has been building to this. The mind grew steady. Fear faded. Grief found no place to sit. The One was found in every heart and in all of space. And now it ends in simply seeing what was here the whole time. The Presence was never missing. Being tuned to the Name is what lets our eyes finally rest on it.
What might already be 'ever-present' around you, waiting only for you to be tuned enough to see it?
