Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Please let the things I do turn out good and worthwhile.

Please cherish this small servant, and lift me up.

Ask that your work bear good fruit — and trust you're cherished as you try.
The deeper layer

A short rahao that is really a prayer: let my kaaraj (works) be safal (fruitful), and nivaaj — cherish, honor — Your servant. The whole shabad that follows is a love-letter to the sant (holy company) and to being useful.

A Question to Sit With

What is a piece of work you'd love to see turn out really well?
