Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

This freeing path is the treasure I hold.

O kind One, please give me this gift — pour Your mercy on Nanak — I've settled the feet of the good and wise inside my heart.

The best path is a gift you receive with open hands, not a prize you win.
The deeper layer

The close names the whole thing a nidhaan — treasure — and asks for it as daan (a gift) and kirpaa (mercy): grace received, not earned. Enshrining the sant charan (their feet) in the heart means keeping their example alive within.

A Question to Sit With

What is something wonderful in your life that came to you as a gift?
