Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
I live happily among good souls; I truly thirst for their company.
Their words become the phrases I turn over in my mind, and being near them, whatever was off in me is set right.
The words of good people can become the good phrases you carry all day.
The sant ke bachan (their words) become the mantra of the mind — the phrases you carry and repeat. "Corruption taken away" is rendered as "whatever was off is set right." The thirst (tikhaa) for good company is treated as a healthy hunger.
