Beginning, Middle, End — Only You

aad antay maDh toohai parabh binaa naahee ko-ay.
In the beginning, in the end and in the middle, You alone exist, God; there is none other than You.
poor rahi-aa sagal mandal ayk su-aamee so-ay. ||1||
He is totally permeating and pervading all worlds; He is the One and only Lord and Master. ||1||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

At the start, all the way through, and at the end — only You are there, and no one else.

The One fills and moves through every world — the one and only.

From start to finish, through everything, it's the same One holding it all.
The deeper layer

Aad, ant, madh — beginning, end, middle — tuhi eku: only You, throughout. The One is rav rahiaa — pervading — sarab loka (all worlds). A steady, grounding assurance: whatever changes, the same One runs through all of it.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that stays the same from the beginning to the end?
