In plain words

There is only One. And the One is found by the True Guru's grace — a gift that is always here, waiting for an open heart.

Blessed, blessed is the flute that the Beloved lifts to His lips and plays.

Out of it flows a sweet, sweet sound — a music with no hand striking it, singing all on its own.

The whole world can be a flute the One plays a sweet, endless song through.
The deeper layer

This opens Bhagat Naam Dayv's luminous block, with its own header. The bansuri (flute) that the Beloved (in the Krishna imagery Namdev loved) plays becomes the emblem of the anhad — the "unstruck sound," the music that sounds without anything striking it, the hum of the One heard within. The Hindu Krishna imagery is carried respectfully, as a window onto the one Reality.

A Question to Sit With

Have you ever heard music that seemed to come from nowhere and everywhere?
