Verse 4 of 5
Written to Meet, and Peace Arrives
lilaat likhay paa-i-aa gur saaDhoo gur bachnee man tan raataa.
Through the destiny written on my forehead, I have found the Holy Guru; my mind and body are imbued with the Guru's Word.
har parabh aa-ay milay sukh paa-i-aa sabh kilvikh paap gavaataa. ||3||
The Lord God has come to meet me; I have found peace, and I am rid of all the sins. ||3||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
It was written for me to find the teacher, and now my mind and body are soaked in the true words.
The One has come to meet me; I've found peace, and the old weight has slipped away.
When you finally meet what you were meant to meet, peace can settle in.
Likhat likhe — a "written destiny" — meets the True Guru; the seeker is rang raataa, dyed in the Word. "Rid of all the sins" is rendered as "the old weight has slipped away," keeping the relief and dropping the language of judgement.
A Question to Sit With
When has something you'd carried for a while finally felt lighter?
