The Deep Color That Won't Wash Out
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਅਤਿ ਗੂੜੀ ਜਿਉ ਰੰਗੁ ਮਜੀਠ ਬਹੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
satsangat pareet saaDh at goorhee ji-o rang majeeth baho laagaa.
The Lord's Love, found in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, is absolutely permanent, and colorfast.
ਕਾਇਆ ਕਾਪਰੁ ਚੀਰ ਬਹੁ ਫਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗੁ ਨ ਲਹੈ ਸਭਾਗਾ ॥੩॥
kaa-i-aa kaapar cheer baho faaray har rang na lahai sabhaagaa. ||3||
The cloth of the body may be torn to shreds, but still, this beautiful color of the Lord's Love does not fade away. ||3||

The love of the One, found in good company, is completely fast and lasting — it never runs.
Even if the cloth of the body wears right through, this beautiful color of love does not fade.
Real love is a color that doesn't wash out, even when everything else wears thin.
The contrast completes: sat sangat dyes you in a majeeth-fast crimson (the deep, permanent madder dye) that outlasts even the body's cloth. Real love is colorfast; it doesn't wash out with time or trouble.
