Remembering, the Confused Mind Clears

jaa kai simran miteh DhanDh.
Meditating on Him in remembrance, conflicts are ended.
jaa kai simran chhooteh banDh.
Meditating on Him, one's bonds are untied.
jaa kai simran moorakh chatur.
Meditating on Him, the fool becomes wise.
jaa kai simran kulah uDhar. ||1||
Meditating on Him, one's ancestors are saved. ||1||

In plain words

Remembering, remembering the One, quarrels inside settle down.

Remembering, tight knots come loose. Remembering, a confused mind clears and grows wise. Remembering, even those who came before are lifted.

Gentle, steady remembering untangles quarrels and clears a foggy mind.
The deeper layer

The first quartet of the jaa kai simran litany. The literal's "the fool becomes wise" is rendered as "a confused mind clears" — gentle self-address rather than name-calling. Remembrance untangles conflict, confusion, and even blesses one's ancestors — the good spreads outward and backward.

A Question to Sit With

When your thoughts are tangled, what helps them settle?
