When Fear and Doubt Are Lifted Away

dookh nivaaran gur tay jaataa.
The Destroyer of pain is known through the Guru.
aap mili-aa jagjeevan daataa.
The Great Giver, the Life of the world, Himself has met me.

He alone understands, whom the Lord joins with Himself. Fear and doubt are taken away from his body. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One who dissolves every pain becomes known through the Guru.

The Great Giver, the very life of the world, has come and met me.

And when the One draws you close, fear and doubt lift right off you, like a weight set down.

Drawn close to the One, fear and doubt simply fall away.
The deeper layer

The One is named dookh nivaaran, remover of pain. When the heart is drawn near, bha-o bharam (fear and doubt) is not fought but simply lifted away.
