aapay gurmukh aapay dayvai.
He Himself is the Gurmukh, and He Himself bestows His blessings.

Through the True Word of the Shabad, serve the True Guru.
jaraa jam tis johi na saakai saachay si-o ban aa-ee hay. ||8||
Old age and death cannot even touch one who is in harmony with the True Lord. ||8||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One gives the very wish to turn toward the Guru, and gives the blessing too.
So serve the Guru through the True Word.
For the one who lives in tune with the One, there is a part of them that growing old, and even the great doorway of death, can never reach.
Live in tune with the One, and something in you never grows old.
Old age and death (jaraa jam) cannot touch the one in tune with the One. In this raag, death is met as a doorway home, not a dread; what is rooted in the One is untouched by time.
