aapay kartaa aapay bhugtaa.
He Himself is the Creator, and He Himself is the Enjoyer.
aapay sanjam aapay jugtaa.
He Himself is detached, and He Himself is attached.
aapay nirmal miharvaan maDhusoodan jis daa hukam na mayti-aa jaa-ee hay. ||14||
He Himself is immaculate, compassionate, the lover of nectar; the Hukam of His Command cannot be erased. ||14||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
The One makes the world and delights in it.
The One is free of it all, and yet woven right through it.
Pure, kind, in love with the sweetness of life, the One; and its gentle flow can never be rubbed out.
The One is both in the dance of life and beyond it, all at once.
A beautiful paradox: the One is both detached (nirlep) and fully in the dance. Compassionate and in love with life's sweetness, its Hukam cannot be erased.
A Question to Sit With
How can you be fully part of something and also calm and free inside it?
