The Name Waiting in Your Deepest Center

gurmukh har jee-o ayko jaataa.
The Gurmukh knows the One, the Dear Lord.
antar naam sabad pachhaataa.
Deep within the nucleus of his inner being, is the Naam, the Name of the Lord; he realizes the Word of the Shabad.
jis too deh so-ee jan paa-ay naanak naam vadaa-ee hay. ||16||4||
He alone receives it, unto whom You give it. O Nanak, the Naam is glorious greatness. ||16||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one who turns to the Guru comes to know the One, the dearest of all.

Deep in the center of them lives the Name, and they come to know the Word.

Only the one You give it to can hold it; Nanak says, the Naam is the greatest greatness there is.

The Name is already waiting in your deepest center.
The deeper layer

The Name waits in the deepest center (ghat) of a person, needing only to be received. It is grace that lets a heart hold it, and it is the greatest greatness there is.

A Question to Sit With

What is something valuable that is already inside you, waiting to be noticed?
