Verse 2 of 16

The Fear of Endings, Quietly Undone

sachaa saahib sachee naa-ee.
True is the Lord and Master, and True is His Name.
gur parsaadee man vasaa-ee.
By Guru's Grace, I enshrine Him in my mind.
aapay aa-ay vasi-aa ghat antar tootee jam kee faasee hay. ||2||
He Himself has come to dwell deep within the nucleus of my heart; the noose of death has been snapped. ||2||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

True is the One, and true is its Name.

By the Guru's grace I hold the Naam close in my mind.

The One has come to live in the center of my heart, and the old fear of endings has quietly come undone.

When the One lives in your heart, the fear of endings loosens.
The deeper layer

Once the One comes to live in the heart, the noose of death snaps, and the fear of endings quietly comes undone. The Guru's grace is what holds the Naam in mind.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that makes a scary thought feel smaller?
