Through devotional worship, the Gurmukh obtains peace and tranquility.

Forever pure and sanctified is the Word of the Guru's Bani; following the Guru's Teachings, one's inner being is drenched in it. ||12||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

A heart turned only outward has not yet found its song of love.

Through loving devotion, the one who follows the Guru finds deep peace.

Forever pure are the sacred words; follow them, and your whole inside is drenched in them.

Devotion is a rain that drenches you all the way through.
The deeper layer

Bhakti, loving devotion, is the missing song for a heart turned only outward. The pure Bani, followed, drenches a person through and through.

A Question to Sit With

What is something you love so much it fills you completely?
