Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 109
Verse 6 of 16

Rooted in Truth, Steady in Storms

jo sach laagay tin saachee so-ay.
Those who are attached to the Truth are true.
doojai laagay manmukh ro-ay.
The self-willed manmukhs, attached to duality, weep and wail.
duhaa siri-aa kaa khasam hai aapay aapay gun meh bheejai hay. ||6||
He is the Lord and Master of both worlds; He Himself delights in virtue. ||6||

In plain words

Those rooted in the truth become steady and real.

A heart split in two stays restless, aching for something it cannot name.

The One holds both this world and the next, and takes delight in every bit of goodness.

Roots in the truth keep you steady when everything else sways.
The deeper layer

Roots in Sach make a heart steady. The One holds both worlds and delights in every bit of goodness, however small.

A Question to Sit With

What keeps you steady when things around you feel shaky?
