Released From the Long Wandering

jis no nadar hovai Dhur tayree.
One who receives Your Mercy, O Primal Lord,
marai na jammai chookai fayree.
does not die, and is not reborn; he is released from the cycle of reincarnation.
saachay gun gaavai din raatee jug jug ayko jaataa hay. ||4||
He sings the Glorious Praises of the True Lord, day and night, and, throughout the ages, he knows the One Lord. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The one your kindness touches is no longer caught in the long round of coming and going.

Day and night their heart sings.

Through every age, they know the one Oneness.

Grace can quiet the restless round of coming and going.
The deeper layer

Marai na jammai chookai fayree — the cycle of coming and going comes to a peaceful close for the one under grace (nadar... dhur). It is a homecoming. Their response is unending song.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that makes you want to sing or celebrate?
