Heads Free of Every Quarrel

aapay sachaa sachee naa-ee.
He Himself is True, and True is His Name.
gurmukh dayvai man vasaa-ee.
The Gurmukh bestows it, and enshrines it within the mind.
jin man vasi-aa say jan soheh tin sir chookaa kaahaa hay. ||8||
Noble and exalted are those, within whose mind the Lord abides. Their heads are free of strife. ||8||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The One is true, and so is its Name.

The Guru places that Naam within the heart.

Those who carry it inside grow noble and calm, their minds free of quarreling and strife.

The Name settles the quarrels we carry inside.
The deeper layer

Tin sir chookaa kaahaa — their heads are free of strife (kaahaa, quarrel). Carrying the Name inward settles the restless arguing of the ego. Nobility here is inner peace, not rank.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you let go of a quarrel or a grudge?
