nadar karay taa guroo milaa-ay.
When the Lord grants His Grace, one meets with the Guru.
har kaa naam man vasaa-ay.
The Name of the Lord is enshrined within the mind.
har man vasi-aa sadaa sukh-daata sabday man omaahaa hay. ||2||
The Lord, the Giver of peace, abides forever within the mind; the mind is delighted with the Word of the Shabad. ||2||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
When grace turns toward you, you meet the Guru.
The Naam settles into your mind.
The Giver of peace lives there always, and the mind grows glad with the Word.
Even meeting the Guru is a gift of grace.
Nadar karay taa guroo milaa-ay — the nadar, grace, is what brings you to the Guru in the first place. Even the meeting is a gift. Once the Name is man vasaa-ay, settled in the mind, joy follows.
