Night and day, they sing the True Word of His Bani. The Naam is the wealth of the poor. ||12||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
True are the loving hearts that are dear to You.
They sing Your praise at Your door, made beautiful by the Word.
Day and night they sing the true Word, and the Name becomes the riches of those the world calls poor.
The Name is a wealth that anyone, however poor, can hold.
Nirdhan kaa naam vaysaahaa — the Name is the wealth of the nirdhan, those with nothing. A tender leveling: the poorest person, holding the Name, is rich. Singing keertan at the divine door needs no money, only love.
A Question to Sit With
What is a kind of richness that has nothing to do with money?
