That humble being who serves the Shabad, is comforted and fulfilled.
ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਚੈ ਓਮਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੮॥
an-din sayveh sachee banee sabad sachai omaahaa hay. ||8||
Night and day, he serves the True Word of the Guru's Bani; he delights in the True Word of the Shabad. ||8||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The awakened heart knows the One is always right here, never far.

The one who serves the Word is comforted and made full.

Day and night they serve the true Word, delighting in it.

The One is always right here, never far away.
The deeper layer

Sadaa hadoor gurmukh jaapai — the Gurmukh knows the One is hadoor, ever-present, never absent. So jan dharaapai — such a one is fulfilled, satisfied, the way a fed child is content. Nearness itself is the comfort.
