ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਏ ॥
satgur pooraa saach drirh-aa-ay.
The Perfect True Guru implants Truth within.
ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
sachai sabad sadaa gun gaa-ay.
Through the True Word of the Shabad, they sing His Glorious Praises forever.
ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਵਰਤੈ ਸਭ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਸਿਰਿ ਲਿਖਦਾ ਸਾਹਾ ਹੇ ॥੭॥
gundaataa vartai sabh antar sir sir likh-daa saahaa hay. ||7||
The Giver of virtue is pervading deep within the nucleus of all beings; He inscribes the time of destiny upon each and every person's head. ||7||

The Giver of every good thing lives within all, gently writing each life's story.
The Giver of good things lives inside every heart.
Gundaataa vartai sabh antar — the Giver of virtue pervades all within. Sir sir likh-daa — inscribing each person's story. Rather than a cold decree of fate, this is the intimate image of a Giver present inside every heart, authoring each life with care.
