The Gurmukh, while remaining dead, is respected and approved.

He realizes that coming and going are according to God's Will.
ਮਰੈ ਨ ਜੰਮੈ ਨਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਮਨਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
marai na jammai naa dukh paa-ay man hee maneh samaa-idaa. ||13||
He does not die, he is not reborn, and he does not suffer in pain; his mind merges in the Mind of God. ||13||
Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa
There is a kind of quiet in which the loud, grasping self grows still, and that stillness is deeply honored.
Resting in the flow, such a heart is untroubled by comings and goings, and melts into the mind of the One.
When the grasping self grows quiet, a deep and honored peace remains.
Remaining dead means the ego-death of the marjeevra while fully alive, a positive ideal: the grasping self grows quiet, and its pain falls away.
A Question to Sit With
