Seeing Birth and Death as One

He comes to understand death and birth.

One who looks alike upon death and birth, is pleasing to my God. ||12||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

The heart that faces the One finds a deep, settled peace.

It comes to see beginnings and endings with the same calm eyes, and that steadiness is dear to the One.

Meeting beginnings and endings with the same calm is a rare kind of peace.
The deeper layer

A key Maaroo verse: seeing birth and death with equal calm. Death is met without dread, and that steady calm pleases the One.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you stay steady when something ends?
