ਕਾਮ ਕਰੋਧੁ ਸਬਲ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥
kaam karoDh sabal sansaaraa.
Sexual desire and anger are very powerful in the world.
ਬਹੁ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਵਹਿ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖ ਕਾ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
baho karam kamaaveh sabh dukh kaa pasaaraa.
They lead to all sorts of actions, but these only add to all the pain.
ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਸੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਵਹਿ ਸਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
satgur sayveh say sukh paavahi sachai sabad milaa-idaa. ||13||
Those who serve the True Guru find peace; they are united with the True Shabad. ||13||

Wanting-too-much and anger are strong forces, and they can pull anyone this way and that.
The heart that serves the True Guru finds a calm they cannot shake, and settles into the peace of the Word.
Wanting-too-much and anger are strong, but a steady heart can outlast them.
Desire and anger are strong inner forces to master. Serving the Guru and living the Shabad bring peace.
