Beyond Reach, Beyond Measure

agam agochar alakh apaaraa.
You are inaccessible, unfathomable, invisible and infinite;
ko-ay na jaanai tayraa parvaaraa.
no one knows Your extent.
aapnaa aap pachhaaneh aapay gurmatee aap bujhaa-idaa. ||4||
You Yourself realize Yourself. Through the Guru's Teachings, You reveal Yourself. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Beyond reach, beyond seeing, beyond any edge, the One is more than anyone can grasp.

Only the One knows itself fully, and through the Guru's teachings, it lets itself be known to us.

What is beyond all our reach still chooses to let itself be known.
The deeper layer

A piling of negations points to transcendence. The self-knowing One reveals itself through the Guru, so grace bridges the gap.

A Question to Sit With

What is something too big to fully understand that still feels close?
