ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂ ਜਾਤਾ ਕਰਮ ਬਿਧਾਤਾ ॥
jin too jaataa karam biDhaataa.
One who knows You as the Architect of Karma,
ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦਿ ਪਛਾਤਾ ॥
poorai bhaag gur sabad pachhaataa.
has the good fortune of perfect destiny, and recognizes the Word of the Guru's Shabad.
ਜਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਈ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
jat pat sach sachaa sach so-ee ha-umai maar milaa-idaa. ||9||
The Lord, the Truest of the True, is his social class and honor. Conquering his ego, he is united with the Lord. ||9||

To know the One as the quiet author behind cause and effect is a great blessing.
For such a heart, the only rank and honor that matters is the True One itself, and as ego is conquered, it is joined with the One.
The only honor that finally matters is the True One itself.
The True One as one's social class and honor dismantles caste-pride: identity rests in the divine, not birth. Ego conquered is an inner victory that brings union.
