Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 125
Verse 8 of 16

The Color That Never Fades

ayhu man bhai bhaa-ay rangaa-ay.
So color this mind in the Fear and the Love of God.
it rang saachay maahi samaa-ay.
Dyed in this color, one merges in the True Lord.
By perfect destiny, some may obtain this color. Through the Guru's Teachings, this color is applied. ||8||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

So dye your heart instead in wonder and love for the One. Colored this way, you blend into the True One.

When the moment is right, this color takes — and it is the Guru's teaching that brushes it on. This color never washes out.

Dye your heart in wonder and love, and the color will not wash out.
The deeper layer

Bhai bhaa-ay: awe and love, the awe of reverent wonder. This is the fast dye that, once set by the Guru's teaching, does not fade — the opposite of the previous pauri's washout color.

A Question to Sit With

What is one thing in you that time only seems to deepen?
