The mind becomes immaculate, and the jewel of spiritual wisdom brings enlightenment; the darkness of spiritual ignorance is dispelled. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

When grace touches me, I find the True Guru. Through the word, the grime of me-first is cleaned away.

My mind turns clear, understanding shines like a jewel, and the darkness of not-knowing lifts.

The ego is not scrubbed away by force but washed clean by grace.
The deeper layer

Grace brings the Guru; the mail (filth) of haumai is burned away by the Shabad. The mind becomes nirmal (clean), the jewel of gi-aan shines, and ignorance — again treated as darkness, not sin — lifts.

A Question to Sit With

What helps you feel clean and clear inside after a hard day?
