ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਹੈ ਪਾਸਾਰਾ ॥

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਅਗਿਆਨੀ ਅੰਧੁ ਅੰਧਾਰਾ ॥
manmukh agi-aanee anDh anDhaaraa.
The ignorant, self-willed manmukh is immersed in utter darkness.
ਧੰਧੈ ਧਾਵਤੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥੬॥
DhanDhai Dhaavat janam gavaa-i-aa bin naavai dukh paa-i-aa. ||6||
Chasing after worldly affairs, he wastes away his life in vain; without the Name, he suffers in pain. ||6||

All around us the pull of things is spread wide. When I let my stubborn side lead, I stumble along in the dim.
Running after one thing then the next, the days can pass unlived — and without the Name, an emptiness stays. But the Name is always within reach, and it fills that empty place.
No amount of chasing fills the place only the Name can fill.
Attachment is spread all over the world (moh hai paasaaraa), and running after one task after another (Dhandhai Dhaavat) uses up a life. Without the Naam an emptiness stays; the Naam is always within reach, and it fills that place.
