ਕਾਇਆ ਸੋਧਹਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰਹਿ ॥
kaa-i-aa soDheh sabad vichaareh.
Purify the body, and contemplate the Shabad.
ਮੋਹ ਠਗਉਰੀ ਭਰਮੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਹਿ ॥
moh thag-uree bharam nivaareh.
Remove the poisonous drug of emotional attachment, and eradicate doubt.
ਆਪੇ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ॥੧੪॥
aapay kirpaa karay sukh-daata aapay mayl milaa-i-aa. ||14||
The Giver of peace Himself bestows His Mercy, and unites us in Union with Himself. ||14||

Keep your body clean and hold the word close. Throw out the poison of clinging, and let doubt fall away.
The peace-giver pours out kindness, all on its own, and gathers you into oneness.
Clear the clutter of clinging and doubt, and grace does the rest.
Purify the body and contemplate the Shabad; remove the bikhiaa (the heavy drug of attachment) and eradicate doubt. The sukh-daataa (peace-giver) bestows mercy freely and unites. Clearing is preparation; the union is the gift.
