O Baba, while I dwell in this body, let me sing Your True Praises,

that I may intuitively merge with You. ||1||Pause||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Dear One, while I live in this body, let me sing of You, the True One,

so that, easily and naturally, I merge into You.

This life is the very time to sing what you love; do not wait.
The deeper layer

Deh vasaa, while I live in the body, treats this lifetime as the precious window for praise, a gentle memento-mori turned toward joy rather than dread. The goal is sahj samaavaa, merging effortlessly into the One. The body is not scorned but honored as the place where union happens.

A Question to Sit With

What is something good you would like to do now rather than someday?
