When Twoness Ends and the Heart Comes Free

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਏਕ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ਦੁਬਿਧਾ ਤਦੇ ਬਿਨਾਸੀ ॥
gur parsaadee ayk liv laagee dubiDhaa taday binaasee.
By Guru's Grace, one is lovingly focused on the One Lord, and then, duality is ended.
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਣਾ ਸੋ ਸਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਕਾਟੀ ਜਮ ਕੀ ਫਾਸੀ ॥੪॥
jo tis bhaanaa so sat kar maani-aa kaatee jam kee faasee. ||4||
Whatever is in harmony with His Will, he accepts as True; the noose of Death is loosened from around his neck. ||4||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

By the Guru's grace, my heart learns to rest on the One instead of being split in two.

When I trust that the flow of life is good, the inner tug-of-war quiets.

And a heavy fear that once tightened around me simply loosens and lets go.

When the heart rests on one thing, the inner tug-of-war lets go.
The deeper layer

Dubidhaa, duality, the split mind, ends when grace focuses the heart on the One. Then jam kee faasee, Yama's noose, is cut: the heavy fear of death lets go. Accepting tis bhaanaa (His Will) as good is mannai, inner alignment, not resignation.

A Question to Sit With

What inner tug-of-war would you like to feel come to rest?
