Verse 14 of 16

One World, One Song

jai jai kaar japahu jagdeesai.
Proclaim His Glorious Victory, and meditate on the Lord of the Universe.
bal bal jaa-ee parabh apunay eesai.
I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to my Lord God.
tis bin doojaa avar na deesai aykaa jagat sabaa-ee hay. ||14||
I do not see any other except Him. The One Lord pervades the whole world. ||14||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

I sing out in joy for the One who holds everything.

I give myself gladly to that dear One. And when I look around, I do not see a second anywhere — the one One fills the whole world.

Look closely and there is no second — one One fills the whole world.
The deeper layer

jai jai kaar — joyful praise of the One of all. aykaa jagat sabaaee — one One pervades the whole world: this is Ik, oneness as the only reality, no second anywhere. bal bal jaaee is glad self-giving.

A Question to Sit With

What might change if you saw the same One in everything around you?
