Dhan kahai too vas mai naalay.
The body-bride says, "Please live with me,
pari-a sukhvaasee baal gupaalay.
O my beloved, peaceful, young lord.
tujhai binaa ha-o kit hee na laykhai vachan deh chhod na jaasaa hay. ||7||
Without you, I am of no account. Please give me your word, that you will not leave me". ||7||

The body says: stay with me, gentle one — I do not feel like much without you.
Please, give me your word that you will not simply slip away.
We all wish the good things would promise never to leave.
The body's tender clinging to the soul: too vas mai naalay (live with me), chhod na jaasaa (do not leave). It is deeply human — the wish that the good things would promise never to go. The longing is held with compassion, before the gentle answer that follows.
