Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 132
Verse 7 of 17

Enjoyer and Free at Once

too vad rasee-aa too vad bhogee.
You are the great party-goer, You are the great enjoyer.
too nirbaan toohai hee jogee.
You are detached in Nirvaanaa, You are the Yogi.
sarab sookh sahj ghar tayrai ami-o tayree daristeejaa hay. ||7||
All celestial comforts are in Your home; Your Glance of Grace rains Nectar. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You taste and enjoy everything there is — and yet You stay completely free, holding on to nothing.

All the peace there is lives in Your home, and Your kind look rains down a gentle sweetness like nectar.

The One enjoys everything fully and holds on to nothing.
The deeper layer

A paradox: vad rasee-aa, vad bhogee (the great enjoyer of all) and nirbaan... jogee (utterly free, detached) at once — full engagement and full freedom, the mark of sahaj. amio... daristeejaa — the grace-glance rains nectar.

A Question to Sit With

Can you enjoy something fully without needing to cling to it?
