Verse 6 of 17

You Know Inside and Out

ayko aap toohai vad raajaa.
You alone are the greatest king.
hukam sachay kai pooray kaajaa.
By the Hukam of Your Command, O True Lord, our affairs are fulfilled.
antar baahar sabh kichh jaanai aapay hee aap pateejaa hay. ||6||
Inwardly and outwardly, You know everything; You Yourself are pleased with Yourself. ||6||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

You alone are the great One.

By the flow of Your true way, everything falls into place. Inside me and all around me, You know it all — and You delight simply in being what You are.

The One knows you inside and out, and delights just in being.
The deeper layer

hukam sachay kai pooray kaajaa — by the hukam, the flow of the True One's way, all affairs are fulfilled. antar baahar sabh kichh jaanai — the One knows everything inward and outward. aapay hee aap pateejaa — the One is content simply in being.

A Question to Sit With

How does it feel to be fully known, inside and out?
