ਕਲਜੁਗ ਮਹਿ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਪਰਧਾਨਾ ॥

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਲਾਇ ਧਿਆਨਾ ॥

ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਗਲੇ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੇ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਪਤਿ ਸਿਉ ਜਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
aap tarai saglay kul taaray har dargeh pat si-o jaa-idaa. ||6||
You shall save yourself, and save all your generations as well. You shall go to the Court of the Lord with honor. ||6||

In this dark age, singing the praises of the One is the highest thing.
Turn to the Guru, sing, and fix your mind on the One.
You will cross over, and carry your whole family across with you. You will go to the Court of the One with honor.
Singing the One's praises carries you across, and your whole family with you.
Kaljug meh keertan parDhaanaa — in this age, the loving singing of the One's praises is held supreme. The Gurmukh sings and gathers the mind in Dhi-aan (focused attention). The reward is beautifully shared: aap tarai saglay kul taaray — one crosses over and carries whole generations along, arriving in the Court of the One with honor.
