Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 135
Verse 13 of 16

No Enemy Anywhere

ਜਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ॥
jah raakhai so-ee sukh thaanaa.
Wherever He keeps me, is my place of rest.
ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਾ ॥
sehjay ho-ay so-ee bhal maanaa.
Whatever naturally happens, I accept that as good.
ਬਿਨਸੇ ਬੈਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਹੈ ਭਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੩॥
binsay bair naahee ko bairee sabh ayko hai bhaalnaa. ||13||
Hatred is gone - I have no hatred at all; I see the One Lord in all. ||13||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

Wherever You keep me, that is my place of peace.

Whatever happens on its own, I accept as good.

My hatred is gone. I have no enemy at all. I see the One in everyone.

See the One in everyone, and you have no enemy at all.
The deeper layer

Wherever the One keeps me becomes my place of rest; whatever comes naturally (sehjay) is met as good — this is sahaj, easy acceptance. Enmity dissolves: bair binsay, naahee ko bairee — there is no enemy at all, because the One is seen in all. This is the nirvair heart, the heart without an enemy.

A Question to Sit With

Who is easier to understand once you look for what you share with them?
