kar kar daykhai khayl apaaraa.
Creating the Creation, You gaze upon Your infinite play.
ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਪਾਲਣਾ ॥੯॥
aap upaa-ay upaavanhaaraa apnaa kee-aa paalnaa. ||9||

You make the world, and watch Your endless play.
You Yourself made it, and You Yourself look after what You made.
Coming and going is all the One's play, and the One looks after it all.
Aavan jaanaa — coming and going, birth and death, the arriving and moving-on of life — is the One's chalat, its play. The One makes the endless play and cherishes what it makes, tending its creation the way a gardener tends a garden.
