Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 137
Verse 7 of 16

Even Time Itself Remembers

simrahi gharhee moorat pal nimkhaa.
Hours, minutes and seconds meditate in remembrance.
simrai kaal akaal such sochaa.
Death and life, and thoughts of purification, meditate in remembrance.
The Shaastras, with their lucky signs and joinings, meditate in remembrance; the invisible cannot be seen, even for an instant. ||7||

In plain words

Every hour, every minute, every passing second holds You in mind.

Life and its endings, and every thought of becoming clean and clear, turn toward You.

The old books with all their signs point toward You — yet the unseen One cannot quite be caught, even for a blink.

Even time itself turns toward the One — who still stays just beyond being caught.
The deeper layer

Hours, minutes, and seconds; life and its endings; every thought of purifying; the scriptures with their signs — all turn toward the One. And yet the alakh, the imperceptible One, cannot be caught even for an instant. The mystery is kept; the mention of endings is held lightly, without fear.

A Question to Sit With

What can you feel is real even though you can never quite pin it down?
