Sikhism·Raag Maaroo·Shabad 140
Verse 7 of 21

Never Born, Never Ending

amogh darsan aajoonee sambha-o.
The Blessed Vision of His Darshan is fruitful and rewarding; He is not born, He is self-existent.
akaal moorat jis kaday naahee kha-o.
His form is undying; it is never destroyed.
abhinaasee abigat agochar sabh kichh tujh hee hai lagaa. ||7||
O imperishable, eternal, unfathomable Lord, everything is attached to You. ||7||

Translation by Dr. Sant Singh Khalsa

In plain words

To catch even a glimpse of this One changes everything.

Not born, not made by anything else, never fading, never destroyed.

Beyond what eyes can see or words can hold, and everything that exists is held inside this One.

Everything that exists is held in the One that was never born and never ends.
The deeper layer

Never born, never ending, the One holds everything that exists.

These words echo the Mool Mantar: aajoonee (unborn), sambha-o (self-existent), akaal moorat (the timeless form). Sabh kichh tujh hee hai lagaa means all things are held in You.

A Question to Sit With

What is something that has always been there, even before you were born?
